The R 12 nineT and R 12, offered as a roadster and cruiser, both showcase a flexible design incorporating a one-piece tubular spaceframe and a flat airbox positioned beneath the seat. The R 12 nineT boasts an aluminum tank, dynamic seating, and a compact rear end to enhance ergonomics. On the other hand, the R 12 presents a traditional teardrop-shaped steel tank inspired by the iconic 1970s “Toaster Tanks,” along with a laid-back seating arrangement and broad handlebars.
The air/oil-cooled boxer engine is a highlight in both models. The R 12 nineT impresses with 109 hp and 115 Nm of torque, whereas the R 12 provides 95 hp and 110 Nm. A tubular bridge steel spaceframe has been newly developed to not only enhance the classic appearance but also reduce weight significantly. Additionally, the exhaust system showcases a unique “Twin Pipe” design with different finishes tailored to each model, adding to their individuality and charm.
The 2024 BMW R 12 nineT and R 12 are available for purchase at Rs 20.90 lakh and Rs 19.90 lakh (ex-showroom) each.
